Our Christmas week is full of comfort and joy as we celebrate Christmas and the birthdays of two of our children as well. On Tuesday, we had Star Wars Lego Gingerbread Cupcakes in honor of our middle child’s 7th birthday. And, on Monday, we will celebrate our daughter’s 4th birthday. In between, we will enjoy our very first Alaskan Christmas… with church and stockings and presents and food, glorious food.
As I was doing some cooking and menu-planning for the big day, I decided to let you in on what our table will look like come Christmas. Back in November, we earned two free turkeys at our local Fred Meyer store, so we set the smaller of the two birds aside for Christmas this year. However, we are already hatching plans to start a new tradition next year – to go all Deadliest Catch and have Alaskan crab for Christmas dinner. But, back to this year, here’s what I’m up to in the kitchen for our intimate supper with our family of five:
For Dinner:
Good Eats Roast Turkey w/pan gravy Holiday Cranberry Sauce Cornbread Stuffing with Apples and Sage Sausage Mashed Potatoes Fresh Green Beans with Mushroom Sauce and Panko Bread Crumbs
I would love to hear what your family will be eating for Christmas dinner, too. Leave me a comment and let me know. Whatever it is, I hope that you are surrounded by family and friends with happy hearts and happy tummies.
